Unprimed panels are a great surface for artists that prefer to seal and coat their panels with a ground of their choice. When prepared correctly, unprimed panels may be used for all media from oils to watercolor.
With the exception of encaustics, it is strongly recommended to seal and prime all unprimed panels before use.
